Gone are the days where Las Vegas real estate was seen as a tacky tourist resort full of bad Elvis Tribute acts and run down casinos where the guests were more losers than winners.
Recently, the whole of Las Vegas has been given a complete change. Gone are the rambling and run down casinos, cheap hotels and half decent resorts. A new system is in place and these are called the mega-resorts!
After recent openings of the Wynn and The Bellagio in Vegas, which were known as luxury hotels to rival the best hotels in the world. A whole new large-scale development system has been planned out with at least five new hotels and resorts planned to open before 2010.
These two resorts, the Wynn and The Bellagio have started a development frenzy in Las Vegas. They are knocking down the older and less fashionable hotels, casinos and resorts to make way for those that can rival only the best resorts in the world. Tourists hoping to win big with the influence of the new hotels and sparkling lights are travelling from far and wide to get a piece of the action.
Before the end of 2010 it has been reported that at least five new mega-resorts will have their doors open to the general public. The Wynn has planned a sister hotel which will be called The Encore. This resort will have no less than 2054 rooms scaling 653 feet in height. This resort alone will reach costs of around $1.74 billion and is said to be the next tourist attraction to have holidaymakers flocking to Vegas.
The Venetian will also open a sister hotel with the name of The Palazzo. This is said to be open at some point in the very near future and the two resorts put together is said to be the "largest integrated destination resort" that the whole world has ever seen. The Palazzo itself will have 3025 rooms meaning that the two combined will have over 7000 rooms.
MGM Mirage is starting the construction process costing a $7.7 billion for a series of resorts, casinos and hotels to be on the Las Vegas strip. It is currently being called Project CityCenter. With over 7000 rooms in the project spanning a number of hotels. A new similar series of resorts near Circus Circus in the north of Las Vegas could be the biggest thing to hit Las Vegas since the very first Elvis tribute act. The Wynn hotel currently has a golf resort situated behind it. Mr. Steve Wynn is said to be getting rid of this to again, make way for another large-scale resort.
There are talks of the biggest ever resort to hit Las Vegas being in the development line called the Crown Las Vegas. This is said to be the biggest and best resort that the City will have ever seen. The Stratosphere is currently one of the largest hotel in Las Vegas. The Crown Las Vegas will reportedly be over 700 feet higher than this, measuring in at an extraordinary 1888 feet tall. 142 floors are planned for the massive structure and apparently the development is currently at the planning permission stage.
With all of these plus a new Elvis themed property apparently being in the pipeline, Las Vegas real estate is ready for a major overhaul. This will bring back the tourists from all over the globe and small time gamblers flocking hoping to be big time millionaires!
