If you want to make a success of affiliate marketing then there are 3 things which you need to know.
Every affiliate marketer is always looking for the successful market that gives the biggest paycheck.
And perhaps you have been inclined to think that there is some sort of magical formula which if only you can get your hands on you will strike gold. But, I have to tell you, there is more to it than that. Its all down to hard work, dedication, and the application of certain proven practices.
I want to bring to your attention 3 marketing tips that have worked successfully in the past, and which will continue to work successfully in the future, and which will ensure that you not only survive online, but actually make some good sales.
So, what are these three tips?
1. The first thing you must do is to use a seperate web page for each seperate product that you are marketing. I know that it is tempting to put them all together, but this is false economy and although you will save money on hosting, you will lose sales through doing it.
A good idea is to have a clear review on your website as to what the product will do for the purchaser, and if possible try to get some testimonials from satisfied customers. These are very powerful and can often turn a potential customer into a buying customer. Needless to say, these testimonials have to be genuine, and you must get the customers permission before using them.
Another thing that successful marketers do is to write an article about the product or service. People like reading articles, and if you can come up with a good headline, and then put in a call to action and then highlight any other relevant or interesting points, you will be introducing some powerful, persuasive points.
2. The second thing that you can do is to offer a free report to the people who visit your website. This is very powerful. Also, make sure you have a box where people can leave their name and email address so that you can follow up with a series of autoresponder messages.
Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never returning again. By placing useful information into their inboxes at certain specified periods, you will remind them of the product they thought they wanted and hopefully you will find out that the sale is closed. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.
Remember to focus on what the product will do for your potential customer. Make sure that the subject line really grabs their attention, and try and avoid using the word 'free' in case the junk filters stop the message getting through.
3. Do make sure that you aim to get targetted traffic, in other words, attract the type of customer who is interested in your particular product or service. If you are selling clothes for instance, it is a waste of time getting visitors who are searching for say motor vehichle parts.
What you need to be doing is turning out at least 2 new articles a week, consisting of between 400-600 words each. I know that is not easy, but it will pay dividends in a steady stream of prospects to your website.
Do remember that not every visitor to your website will be a buyer. Only a small percentage will actually get their credit cards out, therefore it is obvious that you need a constant flow of traffic to your site in order to succeed.
The tactics given above do not really sound very difficult to do, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.
So there we are, three ideas which, if applied, will help your business to succeed, and which will ensure that you receive some very nice, and regular, paychecks.
